Description
On a late afternoon walk, I came across these beautiful Australian Spoonbills. The light, atmosphere and calm setting made for a wonderful photoshoot. I watched as they quietly swept the shallows back and forth, searching for food, catching tiny crustaceans and small fish in their spoon-like beaks. In my painting, I endeavoured to capture the glow of the setting sun reflecting off their white feathers and the gentle ripples of the shallow water gently lapping as they slowly waded around. Is one looking back on the meal he had just missed out on…?
