On a trip to Cairns, Australia we visited ‘Breakfast with Beasts’ which truly was an amazing experience with fantastic up close photographic opportunities. To see these Lions and Lioness’s up so close and to hear their deep vibrating roars was unbelievable, you get the true sense of their power, their beauty but also their vulnerability when in the wild, facing the dangers of poachers and trophy hunters . Here they appeared contented, happy, healthy and well cared for. This female I painted in oil, showing her up close and personal. Demonstrating her power, her deep rumbling roar and her absolute beauty. Her eyes were a gorgeous green gold colour. To have the privilege to look into those eyes, truly touches your soul.
