Jasmine Hambling

Since I was little I have been drawing, painting and creating. As I grew older I continued to follow my Mum’s footsteps in making art, through primary school. high school and eventually graduating from Griffith University College of Art with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animation.

It wasn’t until graduating that I rediscovered my passion for traditional painting and in the years that followed, I began to explore the idea of merging what I loved most about animation and illustration with traditional oil, acrylic and watercolour painting techniques.

In 2014, I collaborated with Professional Photographer Clive Fox and opened Studio 7 in Ipswich QLD – A visual arts space where we run creative events, exhibition and workshops, and where I have also set up my long term studio. At the end of 2016 I was accepted into an Artist in Residency program at Muong Studio and Cultural Museum in Hoa Binh, Vietnam. Husband in tow, I set off on a 3 month Vietnamese adventure painting in a studio, experiencing the culture and learning from a community of many differences.

Today, as I continue to learn more skills and develop my style, I hope to inspire the imagination of the viewer and create dream landscapes you could step into and get lost on a new adventure.
