Description
These mysterious lights have been seen by many travellers and truck drivers making their way through Kalkadoon Country. For hundreds of years, the Kalkadoon people have shared stories about the Min Min, passing them down through generations.
No one has been able to fully explain what the Min Min lights are or where they come from. My Nan, Domic, was the first to tell me about them when I was still a little kid. She always warned me—never follow the Min Min, because it could lead you somewhere you don’t want to go.
That story stayed with me, and it continues to inspire my art. The first time I painted the Min Min light was for an exhibition in Warrington, U.K. Since then, the mysterious light has appeared in many of my works, representing both the wonder of the unknown and the strength of the stories our Elders share
