Description
I have always loved the long streams of paint that artists tend to have streaming off the canvas, almost looking accidental.
This painting started with no particular idea in mind, other than doing just that. Allowing for streams of bright colour to flow down the canvas. After creating some shapes and refining the colour palette, I realised that some of the shapes were highly reminiscent of lotus root chips, while other reminded me strongly of the beautiful lantern festivals held in Vietnam in Hoi Ann, along the riverside.
Some shapes are like ginger flowers, others see the lotus pods and I personally see a fun and fashionable painting – suitable for all ages.
