Evening on the Brisbane River

Description

This is the view from my studio window and the second sunset I have painted of this dramatic, ever-changing view. I love painting the sky – you will find this is feature of many of my works – and what is more dramatic than a sunset?  Although, the colour is predominantly orange, this is contrasted with my “black” a colour I mix myself from the three primary colours, and you will also find soft lilacs and pinks in washes over the dark sky and the tranquil water.  Two sweet details are the City Cat as it sweeps past Breakfast Creek and the Spanish Mission church on the far bank.  And can you spot the tiny Mercedes logo?
