Chateau de Azay le Rideau is a Renaissance building of the early 16th century, regarded as one of the most beautiful of the Loire. Built on an island in the Indre River, the water setting amplifies the elegance of the turrets and their “witch’s hat” cone roofing. The fencing Musketeers are of Dumas’ Louis XIII mid 17th century style.
