Description

The red circles symbolise the many Aboriginal communities that have lived across the land for thousands of years. The central orange sun represents life and spirit, while the Union Jack and Southern Cross mark the arrival of colonisation. The Harbour Bridge stands for progress and a shared path forward. Circles beyond the map reflect the diverse cultures that now call Australia home. Inspired by Kevin Rudd’s 2008 ‘Sorry’ speech, this artwork represents my belief that reconciliation means understanding, respecting, and valuing each other’s cultures—coming together to build a better future for all Australians.
