Noble Nellie

Description

I wanted to capture the intensity of Nellie’s eyes looking straight at you.  I created this pet portrait in my art studio from a photo taken by the dog’s owner.  I really enjoyed the process of creating this pet dog portrait and the feeling of the Kelpie.  I wanted to emphasize the way that Nellie sits, to her facial expression, and personality to the kinds of colours of her fur.

The owner of Nellie explained that “Nellie won’t stop until the work is done, then she snuggles up by the fire at night.  Nellie is loyal and protective of her little family, and she will flip herself inside out to catch a tennis ball before the first bounce.”
