Description

The title is Ngorongoro, pronounced un-go-ron-gor-o. It’s a bloody huge crater formed two and a half million years ago in what is now Tanzania.

It’s a wildlife reserve where flamingoes congregate in vast numbers to stand in shallow water trying

to look attractive to the opposite sex. Which being pink and a flamingo isn’t that difficult.

So, why are flamingoes pink? Well, they scoop up amounts of algae and brine shrimp and, the result, their feathers turn pink!

Naturally, I’ve never been to Tanzania nor owned a flamingo so this isn’t painted from an iPhone snap-shot.

I simply imagined being there. Which you can do too!
