This work is a memory which I've added to, exaggerated and painted afresh!

The original idea for this work was triggered by a memory. It’s broadly based on the limestone outcrops that rise up from the sea in Halong Bay off the coast of Vietnam.

Needless to say, the place is a tourist hot-spot. I visited Vietnam in 2014 and stayed both in Saigon and Hanoi as well as Halong Bay.

But when I was in The Bay the weather was dull and overcast. So my memories and my photographs of the experience are similarly overcast.

I uncovered new reference and set about adding to, embellishing and exaggerating the visuals to paint my memories afresh!
