Description
"Looking for the Gate" was a challenging painting as I really wanted to depict the agility of both the horse, rider and beast. I used a lot of textures from writing into the undercoat to sticking sand and grit to the surface to create the dust flying from the thundering hooves. The original painting is 61cm x 76cm on a stretched canvas. I am really happy with the result, the photo from Dawson River Kelpies was a great reference and the lighting was great.
