Description
Open Edition Reproduction
A painting of a highly motivated and focused tiger springing through the snow. I created the original artwork with acrylic paints on a stretched canvas 16 inches wide by 24 inches high.(41 cm. wide by 61 cm. high )
The Amur tiger is a Siberian tiger that has been re-introduced to an area in the region of the Amur River. (S.E. Russia and N.E. China where the Siberian tiger had become extinct) The Amur/Siberian tiger is the largest member of the five sub-species of tigers – the Siberian, the Bengal, the Sumatran, the Indochinese, and the Caspian. A male Amur/Siberian tiger can have a head and body length between 5 feet and 9 feet, plus a tail between 2 feet and 3 feet in length.
With thanks to Bob Barton for permission to use his photograph of an Amur tiger as a reference for me to create this painting.
