The first Australian coaching business was established in 1853. By the late 19th century it grew to great prominence carrying passengers and mail to regional and remote areas of the Australian outback. It makes me happy when heritage and pioneer villages maintain and utilize these horse drawn carriages to educate the younger generations of our history. I am so fortunate to live near the Rockhampton Heritage Village where I find plenty of subjects for my next painting.
