To compliment my piece “Keen Eyed Kingfisher” set in New Zealand, I wanted to paint its Australian counterpart the laughing Kookaburra. Closely related, both of these birds are beautiful and have had a strong presence in my life. Inspiration came from a family favourite spot here in Tannum Sands. When visiting Canoe Point without a doubt you will see a few of these fascinating charismatic birds.
