Zip-a-dee-doo-dah

This is an uncompromising, unconventional yet, hopefully, surprising work.
My starting point was a simple desire to create a work with a solid, black background. When you add other colours, shapes and subject matter they take on a vibrancy of their own. And this is the result!
The period photo is me, probably about 3 (I was too young to remember) taken in North Wales where I was born. I couldn’t resist painting it set alight. And there’s no hidden message or meaning, I just wanted the challenge of painting flames!
The rest is just random stuff, all except the title ‘Zip-a-dee-doo-dah’ which is more reflective.
It’s a work that is striking, unexpected and will spark  both interest and delight.
