This painting was an experiment for me as I wanted to see if I could use texture and palette knife to create the subtle background for this beautiful Kookaburra. The kookaburras are so very special to me, since I lost my parents I have two kookaburras around every day, no matter where I am. It feels like they watch over me and cheer me on when I need it most, they give me great comfort and peace. I feel so connected to them that I incorporated them, well one, into my logo! I love the soft colours and abstract feel of the background so making the whole focus on the watchful Kookaburra.
