A reproduction of a hand-coloured linocut print of rocky landscape in the Girraween National Park in S.E. Queensland. The rugged, unforgiving country in Girraween National Park has always been a favourite place for me to visit and draw. The folds and massive rock forms create their own spatial planes. it is a very tactile experience moving through the landscape and I feel quite humbled by the power of the landscape. One feels quite put back in one’s box. There are also occasional joyous chance encounters like in this work. The compositions in this series of hand-coloured linocut prints almost drew themselves; there is so much to say about this landscape.
