Daffodil Day 5

Description

In Australia the Cancer Council runs a popular fundraising event in August, called the ‘Daffodil Day Appeal’.

I am an official fundraiser with The Cancer Council; in honour of family members and also looking to the future.  I hope that my efforts of raising funds for cancer research will help everyone.  Every year I paint a special painting of daffodils and use it to raise funds.

The fresh fragrance of the flowers themselves also reminds me of my childhood when I lived in a cooler climate and I could play in a garden full of beautiful spring bulbs with moist ruffled petals fluttering in the brisk breeze. I think of them as a ‘happy’ flower!
