Description
This print is about the familiar. Familiar places anchor, centre, and provide reference points, a bench from which to reflect on life as it unfolds. It is said that one never sees the same river twice. For years I have been glimpsing the Brisbane River and its 4 Bridges at Indooroopilly through the trees as I have journeyed through life.
The brief encounter is always comfortingly familiar, yet subtly different each time, as it is not the same water and I am not the same person. The seasons, tide, light and time see to that. Early morning or late afternoon light, coupled with the Art Deco bridge design, creates a nostalgic longing for earlier days. I have used those tones used in this work
