Artist Biography

Always using her own reference material, Jackie sets out with her camera to capture that special moment, a unique interaction between animals or birds

Her explorations often take her into the bush or along the coastline, where patience is essential. Jackie’s keen eye seeking the fleeting interplay of light, shadow, environment and behaviors—the unique dynamics of each living moment. She believes that true wildlife artistry begins far from the studio, where immersion in nature and observation creates authenticity and emotion in her work.

When back in her studio Jackie uses her photographs to create a scene on paper or canvas with as much realism in her subject as possible.

Jackie uses Acrylic or Pastel as her choice of medium and has sold commissioned pet portraits, including internationally. She has received positive feedback on how she manages to capture the true character of the animal.
