Marie Seeman is a Central Queensland artist who enjoys painting across a broad range of subject matter. Marie has a rural background, growing up on a cattle property near Comet, a small regional town. She developed a love of the country from her early upbringing in the bush, and this passion has stayed with her throughout her life. In later years, Marie nurtured her desire to experience life across the far reach of Australia, travelling and studying Anthropology at various Australian universities.
Since returning to her beloved Central Queensland region, Marie has continued to develop her artistic skills. Marie has furthered her passion in drawing and painting through her studies in Visual Arts at TAFE and with tutors at art workshops. This has led to a range of successful group art exhibits within Rockhampton, Yeppoon and Biloela. Marie enjoys living in the countryside on a farm near Rockhampton and finds inspiration from her natural environment.
In 2025, Marie produced a series of dog portrait oil paintings called “Canine Capers”. Marie worked with a variety of breeds in different contexts and captured their stories, as shared by their owners. Marie enjoys the connections she has with the dogs and using their narrative to create authentic compositions.
In 2026, Marie completed a series of oil paintings of still life focusing on different fruits called “Stories From The Table”. In these artworks, Marie arranged each fruit with other household items to tell a story. Marie enjoys researching the cultural histories associated with each fruit.
The completion of each artwork provides Marie with a feeling of satisfaction. Marie feels privileged to be able to use her artistic talents to evoke the beauty of her chosen subjects and to learn more about the world.
