"Cindy the Gremlin" is a Tortoise-shell cat that I used to own. She was a comical terror in our house and my one companion when I was going through tough times.
This artwork was created by using ripped up novel pages for the background and then overlaying with oil pastel and then working the final layer in oil paints. During this time period, this was my preferred method of working and stems from a series of artworks that describe my personal battle with depression.
The cat (Cindy)/or foxes representing the tenacity of the depression and the robin bird representing my healing and escape from this. The full story of this series can be read in my blog "Of Robins and Foxes"
