The original of "Washed Clean" is a painting in mixed media (oil pastels and oil paint on collage books and canvas) depicting a Robin bird having a bath. This painting is a culminating part of my "Of Robins and Foxes" series which depicts my battle with depression following domestic violence and divorce. It is a powerful painting in the series for me because it represents my coming "through the other side of the battle" and finding myself again - becoming cleansed and renewed and healed. Water has healing properties and I viewed myself in this series as the Robin bird, small and quiet and needing to find my song again.
The full story of this series can be found on my website blog "Of Robins and Foxes"
