Having been a painter for many years my art is constantly changing as I pursue my obsession with colour and design. My father was in the British Army during my childhood years, this meant that we lived in some very exotic places including Hong Kong, Germany and Jamaica. Such visual and cultural delights have long stayed with me.
I lived on a catamaran with my partner for several years, therefore painted umpteen sea inspired canvasses and various oceanic abstracts. Some of these may be seen on my website. About five years ago I stopped painting as I became bored with painting life around me. I wrote a children's book for my granddaughter but this wasn't enough to express my creativity.
I started painting a year later with a totally new and fresh mindset, this was the beginning of my 'Mosaic' series. My main objective is colour and design as I approach my canvas with an open mind, meditate and let my my painting evolve.
My work is centred on aesthetic intuition and feeling, I build with many layers of paint and visual textures as I coax the pulsating colours to bounce off each other. Painting this way invites the viewer to allow their own senses to be aroused and relish in the whole visual experience.
