Ken Riddiford

I was born to a Welsh father and an Aboriginal mother in the early 1950's at Bourke, New South Wales, Australia. However, I grew up in the towns of Windorah, Bedourie and Boulia in the Simpson Desert of far western Queensland.

My inspiration for my art has arisen from living and working on cattle Stations on the Diamantina and Georgina Rivers including Coopers Creek. I am strongly attracted to the beautiful sunsets and sunrises in the outback of this extraordinary country we call home, Australia.

I can remember as a young boy sitting and watching both the sunsets and sunrises for hours and admiring the different colours as they changed along with the silhouettes against the starry skies.
