Joy aspires to portray a new Australian style, drawing on inspiration from modern and contemporary artists as she explores 'wilderness landscapes' in her various journeys both outward and inward.
To fully express the vast chaos and infinite richness of life she has sought out a plethora of painting techniques with different ideas and subjects... however, as synthetic polymers on canvas and paper allow the works to develop rapidly, once Joy has 'dreamed' the work, she approaches the image and develops the base layer quickly. Building up in multiple abstract and transparent layers, Joy's works are complex visually and they take time to appreciate as one needs to inspect closely.
Joy passes on her techniques through teaching and mentoring and finds it always satisfying to help others find their place in 'art'. Currently, her efforts are focussed on taking artists to paint with her into the lesser known places in the big outback.
Joy has been awarded at an international level and receives many invitations to exhibit in major international events.

Joy has had a long and eventful arts career spanning some 40 plus years now. Her life is leading her into steadier waters and her original works are becoming rarer as she can no longer put in the energy to sustain the output that has been a hallmark of her arts life. Hence, Joy has decided to place some of her recent works into the print market and has chosen Art House for this development.
