An emerging artist, born and raised in Rockhampton, I have been fortunate to be able to spend most of my early years with my family, at the beach in the sun and sand or in the bush with nature. I married into a farming family at Theodore Central Queensland, where my husband and I raised and educated our four sons. I worked various jobs off farm to make it all possible and now have an opportunity to develop my passion for art.
I always loved drawing at school, as most children do and soon began testing the waters with a few ceramic lessons along the way. Originally a Hairdresser by trade, I have always been fascinated with design and colour. With limited access in the bush to art tutors, YouTube tutorials and travelling to workshops have given me inspiration and confidence to continue my artistic journey.
I enjoy attending workshops to increase my knowledge and skills, as well as the inspiration you gain from being with and learning from so many others attending the classes with you. I have always found that everyone is so happy and willing to gift you their knowledge to assist you along your way. I have been fortunate enough to attend a few lessons in Rockhampton with Andrea Chapman and other workshops with Helen Cottle, Jenny Kelly and more recently Greg Allen, which combined with watercolour YouTube Tutorials, has inspired me to further my watercolour journey.
I paint in oil, acrylic and watercolour, with watercolour being my favourite for now. My style is an impressionistic approach and I love to paint a variety of subjects. I enjoy the exciting process of putting paint to canvas, from real life, photos or imagination…creating a vision that comes from within.
