I discovered a passion for art at an early age, with each experience in my life fueling my creativity.
I left Japan when I was 18 and made a new home in Australia. This presented me with different opportunities and challenges, which allowed me to express myself completely as an artist. I’m unsure if I would have continued with my art if I had stayed in Japan.
I still have a deep respect for my culture and upbringing, however I enjoy living freely and growing as a person.
A love of nature and a fascination with the animal world continue to inspire me and my art. Animals remain among my favourite subjects to draw. In 2018, I embarked upon a series of whale art drawings that represent the importance of protecting whales and marine animals in our ecosystem.
One of my whale artworks “Whale Guardians of Ocean” most recently received a highly commended award in Lethbridge 20000 Small Scale Art Award in June 2020.
Currently my art focuses on nature, which we cannot live without. I use the soft touch of pencil to express sensitivity and fine details. It adds an absolutely different dynamic to my artwork.
I also specialise in pen and ink art “Thousands of Expressions – 千の表情 – “, focusing on finely detailed illustration arts, mixing lines, intriguing shapes and patterns to create the elements. An evolving process, creating unique and exciting pieces.
