I was born and raised in Paris, France and spent my formative and educational years in this city of culture and artistic endeavour for which it is universally known. My father was an artist and early on, I was immersed into the Art life.
After my University degree, I pursued a career in marketing for ‘Les Maisons Phenix’ in Paris. Later travels around the world led me to Australia, for which we, my husband and I developed a strong affection resulting in a decision to migrate here. Arriving to Perth, W.A., in 1980 after a stay of two years in Japan, we decided to continue some studies at University. I completed a Bachelor of Education in Art in 1982.
A return to France in 1984 gave me the opportunity to complete a Graduate Diploma in Etching and Lithography at the ‘Ecole Superieure du Crear’ in Gouvieux near Paris, before returning to Australia in 1987. I started teaching at Merrimac High School in January 1988 and taught in different public schools on the Gold Coast for 26 years. I retired 4 years ago and since then, I have concentrated on my paintings, my sculptures and extensive travels. I have exhibited in France, Japan and Australia.
My aesthetic goal is to test our visual limits, making us complicit in the visual dynamic between experience and form. At the margins, the images I paint often resist resolution, reminding us that, to make sense of our surrounds, we must constantly frame and reframe our view.
“My travels” as I called my pictures, weave the imagery and concepts of emotion and dream. The scenes are set in Australian contexts. The pictures talk about us, about our passions, our deep feelings in this exotic Australian country so full of mysteries. The pictures are on canvas, acrylic and mixed media.
I love this mesmerising Australia and its beautiful and fascinating sceneries from Sydney to Broome, to Alice Spring, to the Barrier Reef and to the Gold Coast.
I hope that I will engage you, that I will transport you and that the ‘paintings’ will move you with some sense of wonder and love for this captivating and delightful country, Australia
