Whilst hiking in the Daintree National Park Queensland, I came across this beautiful Forest Kingfisher sitting on a branch over a waterhole. With his flicking tail and intense look, he was concentrated on searching for his next meal which may have included beetles, bugs, spiders and grasshoppers or insect larvae, small lizards, frogs and worms. I don't know as I didn't want to bother him too much, so I quietly watched for a bit them moved on without disturbing him. This painting came from that day and is one of my all time favourites.
