Cow Out Back is an imaginary and visual interpretation of my personal experience of living in Australia.
Moving from Canada to Australia has entailed a strange and contradictory experience of familiarity and feeling at home while encountering a reality that is completely foreign and unknown. Seeking to capture something of this experience, Cow Out Back recasts a cow photographed in the nearby farmers’ fields where I lived back in Canada in the solitary, somewhat hostile yet majestic setting of a dry desert-like landscape set against the daunting backdrop of infinite blue sky.

The ability to activate your camera in a browser is currently supported by Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Opera, in both their desktop and Android versions. It is supported by Apple's Safari browser, version 11 and higher. Microsoft’s Internet Explorer has yet to add support for this functionality.
