The Master Coach. A 2006 image of a younger Wayne Bennet (1950-) during his earlier tenure as coach of the Brisbane Broncos. With seven premierships (and several near misses) he has served as the coach for the Broncos, Newcastle, St George, and south Sydney, and the Dolphins. Bennet is the legendary coaching figure of his time. Renowned for his craggy taciturn visage; he tolerates the press infrequently. He has extensive State of Origin success plus National Coaching for Australia, New Zealand, and England.
