Spirit of the Trees 2 – Bundjalung Country

Description

This second painting in the “Spirit of the Trees” series, is painted on wood and is titled “Many Rivers”, and it reflects my time spent on Bundjalung Country—among the rivers, forests, and rich hinterland.

The piece imagines the stories the trees might share—their view of the land, the changing seasons, and the people who have walked alongside them. The flowing lines and colours in this work are inspired by the landscapes I travelled through, each tone representing a different aspect of Country that I observed and connected with.

This artwork continues the story of resilience and memory, showing how the land speaks through trees, water, and Spirit.
