Description
It was a late afternoon walk, the kind where the day begins to soften and stretch into evening. The beach was alive with others doing the same—walking, wading, and fishing —each person holding onto the last light in their own quiet way as it slowly settled over us.
As I wandered along, I found myself drawn to a large pool of water left behind by the retreating tide. The surface shimmered with delicate ripples, catching the fading light in soft, shifting patterns. In that moment, everything seemed to slow—the movement of water, the glow of the horizon, the quiet presence of people nearby.
I stood there, taking it in, feeling both part of the scene and gently apart from it. It was a fleeting kind of beauty, the kind that asks nothing more than to be noticed—and, for me, to be remembered in paint.
