I find Mount Dowgo to be the most spectacular cliff face going. Heading north through the Gorge, up to the Dam, Mount Dowgo is on your right – and it just dominates the skyline! This painting is just a cropped section of the cliff-face. I was intrigued by the cracks and formations present in this particular part of the cliff.

I tend to embrace the concept of accidents while painting and this painting contains a happy one.  If you look closely, one of the paint drips has followed the corrugation of the cliff – zig-zagging its way down by gravity. I could not have achieved that and made it look so effortless, even if I had tried!
