Description

Limited Edition – 5 only

Early one morning when all was quiet but for the calls of distant birds on the nearby river, I found myself at my computer experimenting with interconnected shapes rotating around a circle. The birdsong made me drift off topic and I started to think about my husband and the short span of existence we have left to be together and the love we share. I shed a few tears of love and joy before bringing myself back to the computer task. What if I made the orbiting shapes teardrop shaped? How many tears do you cry in a lifetime I wondered? I created a single tear shape around a section of circle circumference then repeated it further from the circle centre and then shifted them about the circumference until they formed a dense doughnut shape. I layered colours in and tested shadow.  A life worth of tears? Then I erased a portion of the tears like the years will erase us all eventually – impermanence. The background is a pattern of intersecting circles – all our lives together on our little planet.
