Description
On my late afternoon beach walk, as the sun began to sink and the sky softened into a glassy wash of colour reflected in the shallow pools, I paused to notice the intricate patterns left in the sand by the ebb and flow of water, something I am drawn to recreate in oils, with their smooth, blending qualities.
In that moment, I wasn’t just observing the scene—I was carried back to memories of my uncles, who fished at this very time of day, always hoping the light would linger just a little longer. Painting this allows me to hold onto that feeling—of connection, of shared time, and of the quiet beauty found in both place and memory.
