Limited Edition Reproduction of 100 Only
The botanical name for this strikingly beautiful plant is Swainsona Formosa. The more common name is Sturt’s Desert Pea, discovered in 1699 by William Dampier. It is also South Australia’s Floral Emblem. It loves the arid and sandy outback. I used my reference photos from my time living in the Western Australian Pilbara region where it was common to see this magnificent flash of red sprawling across the baked red earth. I also found some thriving plants in Central Queensland under propagation which prompted this new artwork.
