The Macquarie Marshes,a semi-permanent wetland. In 1986 the Macquarie Marshes nature Reserve was listed under the Ramsar Convention as a "Wetland of International Importance".
This stunning semi-permanent wetland ranges from reed beds, wet grasslands and river red gum forest. The black and white Magpie geese make a spectacular contrast against a backdrop of lush wet marsh country. You can almost hear the frogs croaking!.
