Bluey – underneath the clouds of orange fluff lurks the real ruler of the land. 

"Bluey" the cat is "Sam" the Ridgeback's fur family. Either curled up in Sam's favourite position on the sofa or next to the heater vent, Bluey keeps an eye on all proceedings within the house.  When he's sure he has everyone settled, he will demand to be let out, then let in, then let out again.

Bluey is the first cat that has ever won me over.  Preferring dogs all my life, this fluff ball somehow clawed his way into my heart.

Coloured pencils and some pan pastels were the perfect way to capture his luxurious fur with clumps of deep orange and purple underneath floating out to dreamy white fluffy clouds.  The perspective allowed his gorgeous pink paws to be slightly out of focus while his sharp green eyes carefully make sure his house is under his complete control.

"Bluey" is the pigeon pair for "Sam". Originally a pair of 50x70cm Caren D'Ache coloured pencil drawings on Pastelmat board, the open edition fine art reproductions have captured every detail.
