This painting captures the calm before the storm at Hyams Beach, one of my favourite places.  The contrast between the serene plane of the ocean and the dramatic, brewing sky, embodies that moment of peaceful stillness before nature’s power takes over. The barracks, nestled quietly in the distant landscape, add a subtle sense of history and permanence as the tempest rolls across.  I made it back to shelter just in time!
