Description
I have often sat out in the wilderness on a rainy day and watched the movement of water across the landscape and the changes it brings. As dust washes off rocks and trees, they become darker and brighter, the clouds drift past, the silence is deafening. Rocky landscapes are a favourite of mine and how rain and water abstract the shapes and colours inspires me. In this work I wanted to approach a rainy afternoon with that sense of abstraction that wet weather brings with it. It’s the sort of day that lends itself to deep thinking, stopping the madness and instead, sitting in meditation, quietly composed, watching and waiting quietly for that patch of sunshine.
